Joint Base Andrews
Joint Base Andrews Naval Air Facility Washington (formerly Andrews Air Force Base) is a United States Air Force base and home of Air Force One, located in Prince George's County, Maryland, approximately ten miles southeast of Washington, D.C. Andrews was established in 1942 and its facilities are frequently used by the President, Vice President, members of Congress, foreign dignitaries and other political officials.
On October 1, 2009, the base officially became Joint Base Andrews Naval Air Facility (a joint basing action of Andrews Air Force Base and Naval Air Facility Washington) as a result of the 2005 BRAC law. Over 60 activities and special missions are currently located on Andrews.
